Cary, NC This Friday April 4th, 2014 at the SCIENCE FUN for Everyone! Lab, (a Cary 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to making science fun for children) the “scientists-
wrapped up their week of “High Tech Inventions” with a classic experiment: Mentos and Soda. Our version is called “Xploda Soda”! At 4:15 PM on the last day of camp, all the camper's family and friends gather around the tables outside of Science Fun's headquarters on James Jackson Avenue. They watched eagerly as the kids dropped Mentos into 2-liter bottles of soda, activating erupting fountains of fizz that shot over 30 feet in the sky! The children screamed in delight, dressed in their white lab coats and safety glasses, as soda rocketed skyward, then created a “soda-rainfall”
splashing everywhere and drenching the children. The parents got to experience firsthand, the kinds of fun things their children have been doing all week.
SCIENCE FUN for Everyone hosts full day and half day camps, morning and afternoon, all throughout the summer and even during the school year for track-out kids. Their facility is filled to the brim with lizards, bugs, beakers, magnets, animal organs, rocks and other real science equipment and things that could conceivably be used to teach children about their environment and basic scientific principles. This doesn’t even include the crazy “edible experiments”
they whip up during snack time-- pretzel-marshmallow-
apple robots, anyone? SCIENCE FUN for Everyone's camps are always full of giggling children creating a wide variety of things, from box cameras to bionic ears... as they learn in an exciting, hands-on fun way!For more information, call 919.460.5800 or visit www.ScienceFun.org
