Follow on Google News | Children’s Author Sends Coloring Books to Clergy Responding to Oso Landslide to Help Grieving KidsBy: Beyond the Blue Ministries Kingston, WA – Beyond the Blue Ministries announced today that local children’s author, Jane Van Antwerp, has donated and sent a number of copies of her coloring book, “The Jesus Comfort Quilt (http://www.beyondtheblueministries.com/ “In the wake of such a horrible tragedy we wanted to do something that helped people work through their emotions and find comfort.” Jane said. The book is specifically written for elementary aged children, but many have reported finding it helpful for people of all ages. Grief is a very long journey, and childhood loss and grief will resurface over and over again. The 20 illustrations in these simple coloring books will remind an adult that God was with them in the hardest of times of their childhood, and provide comfort when that grief resurfaces in later years. Preschool children love coloring books, and even though they may not understand most of the concepts written about, they will want and need to be part of processing any family loss. About Jane Van Antwerp Jane Van Antwerp is the author of 7 children’s books, with 4 more slated for publication in 2014. Jane served for 25 years as the Children’s Pastor at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church.
