Darius Rucker Performing at WOODYSTOCK 2014 at Legend Valley-Buckeye Lake

THORNVILLE, Ohio - April 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Thornville, OH- Country music superstar DARIUS RUCKER is set to headline the first ever WOODYSTOCK 2014 festival Labor Day weekend, located at Legend Valley Music Center on Buckeye Lake. Darius Rucker has found incredible success as a country artist. In 2008, he released Learn to Live; the album's first single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It,” reached number one on the country charts. It was followed by two more singles that topped the charts- "It Won't Be Like This For Long" and "Alright" - and earned him the New Artist award from the Country Music Association. His 2010 follow-up, Charleston, SC 1966, included two more Number Ones, "Come Back Song" and "This." Rucker was nominated for the CMA's Musical Event of the Year award for his performance of “Stuck on You” with Lionel Richie, and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry later that year. “Wagon Wheel,” a single released off his album True Believers, reached number one on the Country Airplay chart in May 2013. Rucker has had continued success touring nationally, selling out festivals and arenas across the country.

About WOODYSTOCK: Following the large success of Country Jam (http://www.legendvalleyfestivals.com/), WCOL has again teamed up with Bluestone Promotions to bring country fans WOODYSTOCK 2014. WOODYSTOCK is a new two-day festival (August 29^th-30^th) featuring country music’s biggest stars, with its debut lineup including Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Little Big Town, Kip Moore, Gloriana, Cassadee Pope, Love and Theft, Craig Campbell, and more to be announced. Like WCOL Country Jam 2014, (held in June at Legend Valley and features Hank Williams Jr, Dierks Bentley, and more,) WOODYSTOCK is an outdoor concert presented by 92.3 WCOL, bringing twelve country music superstars to central Ohio. The debut event spans two days, and several camping options will be available for patrons.  Both Country Jam and WOODYSTOCK are part of 92.3 WCOL’s 20^th anniversary celebration.
