HUNTINGTON, N.Y. - April 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Northport, NY – April 4, 2014 – After they leave the battlefields and duty stations, many veterans find they are still fighting - against post-traumatic stress (PTS), traumatic brain injury (TBI), depression, overmedication and even poverty.  Sadly, it’s a battle that leaves 22 veterans dead – by their own hands – every day.

Staying true to their mission to honor and enable wounded warriors and veterans in need from post 9/11 wars, Cow Harbor Warriors aims to call attention to this tragedy in the 22 weeks leading up to its second Warrior Weekend, September 5-7, 2014. The organization will be holding a news conference to outline its plans for a series of events that will help Americans understand the scope of the problem and what they can do to help.

The news conference is scheduled for:

April 10th, 2014 at 12:30 pm

Veterans Plaza

Huntington Town Hall

100 Main Street

Huntington, New York

Local elected officials, community leaders along with representatives of the Semper Fi Fund, Paws of War, and other veteran support organizations will join members of Cow Harbor Warriors for the kickoff news conference to provide insight about what communities can do to provide support.
