Ozzie deFaria’s Master’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing, along with the education he received at Harvard’s School of Business, enabled the launch of his long and successful business career. Ozzie deFaria’s business success began at AT&T, where he managed the residential customer acquisition group during the height of the long distance wars in the 1990’s.  It was proven effective again during his employ at Voyager.net, where he increased the company’s revenue from $10.7 million to $75 million, in 2000. His subsequent achievements in leadership were realized during his time as CEO at Volaris Communications, where he was recruited to turn around the financially troubled ISP. He consolidated overall operations, recruited a new senior management team, and regained over $30 million in value when he sold the company in 2002. He has also provided management consultant support to other companies as well, improving their financials and long-term viability.

Ozzie deFaria: Making a difference with public service and today’s youth.

Today, deFaria is a private investor, and also finds his calling as a public servant and mentoring today’s up and coming student athletes. In 2011 and 2012, deFaria was a candidate for Florida’s 23^rd Congressional District. His pro-business platform focused on his successful business experience. Mr. deFaria received national endorsements from former Republican Presidential nominee John McCain, North Carolina Senator Richard Burr, and former Congressman JC Watts.

Ozzie deFaria also focuses his efforts on helping high school student athletes in the college recruitment process.  He has developed workshops and mentored students individually, helping them build athletic resumes, contacting college coaches, and educating them on NCAA guidelines. He assists with overall marketing of the student athletes he works with, and has successfully placed  high school athletes at highly competitive universities, such as University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University.
