After 3 years of work, a student created an algorithm that ables to find recipes according to what the user has at home.

PARIS, FRANCE, 22/05/14  – “Check and Cook” is the first iPhone/iPad application that allows users to find recipes based on what they already have in their fridge. 3 years have been needed for the algorithm to be fully efficient. Users just have to fill up the app with the ingredients that they have in their pantry, then the app shows us among more than 41 000 recipes which one they can cook without buying anything more. Thanks to this application no more wasting food and no more running out of ideas.

“Check and Cook” will be available for iPhone and iPad on Sunday, 20th June 2014. Users will be able to share their own recipes with everyone else. Moreover, there is a “Grocery List” tab on the app to let the user writes what he has to buy. When he adds an ingredient to his “Grocery List” the app tells him how many more recipes he would be able to cook with this new ingredient.

About Check and Cook.

The idea came out when Pierre-Louis Sauvaige, as a student, wanted to cook something different from pasta or rice. He opened his fridge and never found what to cook. At this moment “Check and Cook” was born.
Pierre-Louis now wants to share his application with everybody that might be in the same situation as he were. Currently, the application is in english but, as he’s French, he wants to launch a french version as soon as possible.
