Local Tampa Bay Company Ranks Number One on Top 50 Gulf Coast Contractors List

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - April 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Power Design, Inc., a St. Petersburg-based company, was ranked number one on the 2014 list of Top 50 Gulf Coast Contractors by the Business Observer last week. The annual list ranks the top contractors from Pasco to Collier counties by revenue, providing a snapshot of construction trends in Florida’s Gulf Coast region.

Power Design leapt from the number two spot last year to number one this year due to an increase in revenue from $141 million to $189 million. With more than 100 active projects across 18 states, a pattern of growth is evident and projected to increase this year. In addition to the top contractor accolade, Power Design was recognized for more than ten awards in 2013, including the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Best Places to Work, ENR’s Top Specialty Contractors, and EC&M’s Top 50 Electrical Contractors.

“We are excited to be named number one contractor on the Gulf Coast,” said Lauren Permuy, vice president of business development. “Not only did we have an increase in revenue, but we hired 84 employees in the Tampa Bay area.”  With the construction industry rebounding, the Top 50 Contractors list provides a positive sign of the times and a look into the contractors who foresee growth in the future.
