d'Arenberg the Cadenzia 2009 Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre
The nose is full of vibrant fresh fruit including plum, raspberry, currant and cranberry with varietal spice and a lovely violet overtone providing a delicate touch. The elegant palate adds rhubarb to the fruit spectrum with a very attractive pink musk nuance emerging on the mid palate with a second layer of earth and dried herbs providing a savoury kick. The lively acidity is linear and focused and a real feature. The tannins have good weight and build through the palate with a handsome presence on the long finish.

The name ‘Stump Jump’ pays homage to a significant South Australian invention – the Stump Jump plough. The Characteristics - The nose features plum and bright red fruits with a hint of roasted meats, earth, pepper and exotic spices. The palate has some wonderful delicate fruit with blackberry joining the party. A touch of dried herbs adds a savoury edge with fine, lifted tannins providing a long finish. It’s cracking wine with sophistication.
Hentley Farm Stray Mongrel 2012 Grenache Shiraz Zinfandel
The aromatics are evident of the rich vintage with juicy red berries and ripe tropical fruits jumping out of the glass. The palate also shows intense red berries through the front and middle combined with a slightly creamy edge which leads to a back palate of pepper, olives and five-spice. Sweet glycerol and fruit line the palate and balance the savoury extended maceration tannins to prvide a full yet soft palate.

Harvesting The grapes are harvested at good maturity. Vinification Ageing is performed in vats with regular pumping over in order to clarify the wine. Maturing The wine is aged in vats to develop a good expression of the fruits. It is assembled at the end of spring. Tasting Colour : Garnet red. Nose : Red fruit aromas, mainly Morello cherries. Palate : aromas of red fruits (mainly morello cherries) and spices (liquorice, grey pepper).
