LOS ANGELES - April 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Rory Seldon is what you call a triple threat. His music making skills, prolific performances, and independent album releases speak volumes for musicians who have broken ground in the local music scene. As one of the most performing R&B/Funk bands in Southern California, Rory Seldon with InnerSession is the group to watch. After releasing three CDs, ETCHED IN STONE, ALL I KNOW, and Seldon’s latest, CROSSING THE LINE; Rory Seldon is proud to present his first music video from a track off of his latest CD, entitled “Come to Me First.”

“Of the songs we perform live, the audiences seemed to like “Come to Me First” the most.  The ladies in the group came up with some moves and the audience really gets involved, much like the Village People’s ‘YMCA.’ And the music video, ‘Come to Me First,’ is about a young woman looking for the right guy. The message is don’t be distracted by the bling,” states Rory Seldon

“Come to Me First” was directed by Scott Hayes, starring Michelle Reese, Tony Allen, Ronald Seldon, and Ken Wade. The video also features a performance by Rory Seldon with InnerSession with band members Michael Chaney, Cyndi Holman, Keith Chustz, Adrien DeLuna, and LeShawn Mack. “Come to Me First” was filmed at several locations in Southern California, including Newport Beach, East L.A., and Long Beach.

Rory Seldon with InnerSession started out as a Christian-based band, which initially performed mostly non-secular songs, played in a non-traditional R&B style. Seldon’s last CD stepped away from that and moved more into an authentic old school/R&B/funk vein.

“The first two CDs we did were the majority of Christian songs. This last CD stepped away from that because the first two were not indicative of what the band was playing at shows. This last CD was more representative of what the band was doing. This last CD, ETCHED IN STONE, is mostly R&B with a couple of spiritual songs. Even though we play R&B, God is always in the message somewhere,” adds Rory Seldon

The Event is on Saturday, April 5, 2014.  Red Carpet is at 6:30 PM. Doors Open at 7:00pm, with the show starting at 7:30pm with comedian Tymon Shipp, followed by the screening of “Come to Me First,” then finishing with Rory Seldon with InnerSession. M Bar is located at 1253 North Vine Street, Hollywood, CA. Call 323-856-0036 to RSVP. This event is sponsored by Indie Hotspot and Emblem Showroom.

Rory Seldon was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. His love for music began at an early age. At age 13, he began playing the trumpet. He also studied other brass instruments through junior high and high school. He was the kid hanging out in the band room during lunchtime. While in high school, most of his free time was spent playing with local bands, doing studio recording, and playing in local churches. Rory grew up listening to a variety of music greats but took a special interest in Stevie Wonder. “I remember the first time I discovered he was blind,” says Rory. “He was being guided up to the stage to receive a Grammy for his album SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE. I remember asking my father, ‘Why are they helping him up to the stage?’ That album was a turning point for me. It is what inspired me to write songs.” Soon after that, Rory began playing around on the piano and organ at his home church. Rory has been writing songs since the early 80s, and continues to write most of the songs he performs.

Rory Seldon with InnerSession has performed at Rock n’ Roll marathons, several music festivals, opened for Poncho Sanchez and Steve Copeland, and performed with legends Paul Hill and HB Barnum. Seldon’s music is smooth, funky, inspirational, and uplifting.  His musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Prince. Rory Seldon InnerSession always captivates their crowd having them dancing as soon as the show begins. The band consists of six talented members.  Each performance showcases quality vocals and exceptional harmonies, keeping the audience flowing with their music all night.
