Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contender Spends Week on Best Seller List

ALBANY, Calif. - April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Amanda Mahan published her young adult mystery novel, Heiress, P.I., in December 2013. The popular novel was recently announced as one of only 400 that made it through to the second round of the highly competitive Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest that allows up to 10,000 entries per category.

Mahan has to wait until April 14, 2014 to learn whether Heiress, P.I. has made it to round 3, but she has something else to celebrate now. The hilarious novel appeared on Amazon's Mysteries & Thrillers best seller list for teens and YA on March 25, and stayed on the list through March 31. It went all the way to #8.

Heiress, P.I. also spent 6 days on another YA list, peaking at #9. The funny debut novel appeared on Amazon's Cozy Mystery list as well. An impressive feat for any self-published writer, even one who has won a People's Choice Award and worked on two sitcoms for NBC.
