The iconic phrase in the Wizard of Oz movie –“ There’s No Place Like Home” – rang true for hotel proprietors, Richard and Lois Nicotra, when replica Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers were stolen from their Hilton Garden Inn hotel lobby on Staten Island. Although returned, Staten Island-based,  APB Security Systems, was pleased to install security equipment –new industry technology - to ensure that the Hilton’s replica RUBY SLIPPERS  never leave “home” again.

APB Security installed a Honeywell product, Total Connect , to protect the slippers which are on display at the hotel, covered by a glass case. If there is an attempt to remove the slippers from the case, an alarm will sound off and a 10 second video will be captured .
