Blackwell has served as leader of the Oakland, California-based research and action institute, PolicyLink, since 1999 and continues to drive its mission of advancing economic and social equity. She is also a frequent commentator for some of the nation’s top news organizations including The New York Times, the Huffington Post and the Washington Post.
