Hatcher Law Group Honored by Safe Alliance

The firm was presented with the 2014 Commitment to Justice Award for pro bono representation of domestic violence victims.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- For the third consecutive year, Safe Alliance presented Hatcher Law Group with the Commitment to Justice Award in recognition of the firm’s continued support of the Legal Representation Project (LRP). Recipients were honored at the inaugural Barrister’s Ball, a fundraising event held on March 29 to benefit the LRP.

The LRP, part of the Safe Alliance Victim Assistance program, provides free legal representation to domestic violence and sexual assault victims seeking protective orders.  In 2013, volunteer attorneys represented more than 200 clients through the LRP.  “These selfless lawyers truly changed lives for the better and we are honored by their expertise and support,” said Laura Lawrence, Director of Legal Advocacy at Safe Alliance. “The Commitment to Justice Award is our way at Safe Alliance of extending our sincere appreciation to firms and individual practitioners working directly with clients as they transition from violent situations to safety.”

Since 2011, attorneys and paralegals at Hatcher Law Group have dedicated more than 150 pro bono hours to helping victims of domestic violence. The firm’s attorneys are also regular presenters at the Mecklenburg County Women’s Commission Family Law Clinic.
