Friday Kick-Off Launches Carlisle Performance & Style in 2014

CARLISLE, Pa. - April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Carlisle Events has backed Carlisle Performance & Style (or some variation of it) since 1996.  Historically, the show has been two days packed with fun, hot cars and automotive excitement for the thousands who attend.  This year, and for the second consecutive offering, Carlisle Performance & Style welcomes showgoers on grounds for a special Friday kick-off.

The event itself is marketed as two days and officially runs May 10-11 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds; however, the second annual Friday kick-off celebration will not only add an extra day to the weekend, it’ll add even more fun and competitions.  Carlisle Events’ Showfield Registration office opens at 3 p.m. and the onsite fun starts at 4 p.m.  The aforementioned low-car limbo and car cruise are featured attractions but are limited ONLY for those who have registered to be part of the show.  Each car that is registered can bring two people through the gates - a driver and a passenger.  Limbo fun starts at 5 p.m. and continues until there is just one car remaining.  An awards presentation for the cruise and the limbo take place at 8 p.m.

Further, there will be special drift exhibitions taking place Friday, including some nighttime drifting.  Lights will be positioned around the course to better illuminate the festivities and this aspect of the night perfectly sets the table for the remainder of the weekend’s on-track fun with NICOClub and their always-popular NICOFest.

Another great bonus to the Friday fun is that it helps save guests time when registering cars for the showfield.  Historically, long lines form outside Showfield Registration on Saturday of show weekend and this makes everyone who is standing around and waiting miss some aspect of the show.  Now, with the Friday kick-off, even if an enthusiast can’t stay for the entire evening’s fun, they can still pop into the Showfield office, register and then come back Saturday and avoid the wait. Ultimately, it saves everyone time and betters the overall show experience.

Also, don’t miss the ALL NEW drifting feature via Los Goonies! Night drifting is coming to Carlisle and onsite guests can swing by the course on the north side of the grounds for this cool showcase. Just like the kickoff itself, enthusiasts watching the Los Goonies Drift Showcase must be a registered showfield participant.  The drift showcase with Los Goonies will be fun, action packed and leave everyone wanting more.

Finally, camping returns for a second year and is a great option for showgoers who want to have front line access for the entire weekend.  Space is limited and anyone camping onsite must be registered for the event.  Additional restrictions apply, but anyone who chooses to camp will go to bed each night thinking of the fun day they just had and wake up the next morning just steps from even more excitement.
