“This initiative has been launched to boost higher education in regional Victoria,” Professor David Battersby, Vice-Chancellor of Federation University Australia, said.
“The structure of our courses provides our students with the flexibility and one-on-one attention they deserve; smaller classes and sessions ensure the highest standard of learning is delivered locally yet affordably.”
The Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Education (Birth – Year 6) also is available at the Wimmera Campus.
The Australia Bureau of Statistics has reported that over the past decade nationally, there has been a 10 per cent growth of people aged 25-64 with a higher education qualification. The demand on institutions has never been greater.
A key determinant of regional economic development is the knowledge and skills with which people contribute to society and the economy.
Despite this significant growth, the availability of skilled workers is a key regional development issue.
With the pending retirement of the baby boomer generation, the development of regional and rural individuals is a critical part of addressing anticipated regional labour shortages.
