Each year on the last Saturday in April, Rebuilding Together Portland hosts a one-day building event designed to provide homeowners, who, due to financial hardship, age, and/or disability, cannot do the work themselves, with free, home repairs. This year, PODS® has teamed up with the charitable organization to provide logistics support of the large-scale community project.
“It has been a pleasure being involved in these projects, knowing we are associated with a very good program, which impacts people and families in our local neighborhoods,”
PODS® containers will be donated and placed at work sites throughout the greater Portland area, and will safely store homeowners’ furniture and personal belongings as Rebuilding Together Portland volunteers tackle painting, plumbing, carpentry, weatherization and other home repair projects.
“We are thrilled to be working with PODS again as they lend their generous support of Rebuilding Together Portland,” said Mike Malone, Rebuilding Together Portland event organizer. “Having on-site storage makes our job easier, helps the projects runmore efficiently and makes homeowners feel more at ease.”
Since 1990, Rebuilding Together Portland has been realizing ambitious annual goals to repair and rehabilitate both homes and nonprofit community facilities. For more information, visit http://www.rtpdx.org/
