Harold Camping documentary film APOCALYPSE LATER coming to VOD, May 2014

April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – Gravitas Ventures announced today that they have acquired all U.S. and Canadian VOD rights to APOCALYPSE LATER: HAROLD CAMPING VS THE END OF THE WORLD, a documentary film directed by Zeke Piestrup (DOWNHILL: THE BILL JOHNSON STORY).  During the two weeks leading up to May 21, 2011, Piestrup, even though a nonbeliever, forged a close relationship with Camping and was the only journalist to speak daily with the radio evangelist.  The documentary film is an up-close and personal look at the then 89-year-old Camping and features commentary from biblical scholars Bart Ehrman (UNC Chapel Hill), John Collins (Yale Divinity), and Peter Lillback (Westminster Seminary).  APOCALYPSE LATER is slated for a May 2014 VOD premiere.

Harold Camping sounded the alarm.  May 21, 2011 was to be Judgment Day, God’s intervention into our worldly affairs.  The billboards and RVs declared, “The Bible guarantees it!”  For most Americans, these are the Last Days.  Nearly 80% expect Jesus to return someday, with half those believing he will return before 2050.  APOCALYPSE LATER looks at the origins of end times predictions.  The same excitement that Camping tapped into for his May 21st prediction is the same excitement that helped birth a world religion 2000 years ago.
