Gypsy Legend and Forbidden Love: The Recipe for an Engaging New Novel

ST. LOUIS - April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Begin with a devoted hero. Add a dash of treason. Roll out the eternal love triangle. Spice with a strong gypsy heroine and garnish generously with the customs of a people shrouded in mystery. What you have are all the ingredients for a thoroughly satisfying story, as in the case of Elizabeth A. Miller’s latest novel, A Tent in the Wind.

Just released, A Tent in the Wind is a unique tale about the ties of family and friendship. It pits the desires of the heart against the duty of social position and offers a tantalizing glimpse into the gypsy culture.

Unlike other regency romances, A Tent in the Wind strays from the usual constraints of the parlor and the ballroom to journey into the heart of a gypsy camp. There two noblemen have an intense interest in the same remarkable woman. Their friendship, their future and their very lives come to depend upon the aid and affections of a gypsy named, Kara, who is destined for greatness among her people.

Although Kara is proud, cunning, wary of gadjos, and devoted to her pralos, she is far from the stereotypical image of a gypsy woman. Not only is she well-educated, she is also pure and unsullied despite her dangerous attachments, first to Lord Geoffrey DeMane and later to Lord Alec Adair.

These bonds soon entangle her in a treacherous plot that would restore Napoleon Bonaparte to power and see a precious gypsy talisman, known as the Invader’s Amulet, sacrificed to the profane hands of gadjos. Responsibility to her family, devotion to Lord Adair and a duty to fulfill her destiny creates a delicate balancing act which Ms. Miller deftly navigates into a surprising ending that leaves you wanting more.

A Tent in the Wind is available as a Kindle e-book or as a paperback at http://amazon.com or at Elizabeth Miller’s author site http://emillerbooks.com.  Check out the author’s site for further insight into the creation of the novel, as well as access to complete texts of some of the gypsy legends used in the book.
