April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Bounce Back PH is a basketball-based campaign started on the philosophy that champions are created by how well they “bounce back” from any type of challenge. The campaign is currently seeking financial support to assist the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.  This past weekend, Team Bounce Back broke records in a basketball marathon aimed at calling media attention to the devastation still associated with Typhoon Yolanda.  https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/building-homes-to-help-people-bounce-back--3

Typhoon Haiyan (AKA Yolanda) was a globally recognized setback for the Philippines. Bounce Back PH has launched its IndieGogo campaign on March 31st and it will run until May to help raise funds with the sole purpose to sustain housing. The recent Basketball Marathon gained international coverage with over 30,000 total points scored in the game, 16,000 + by Team Bounce Back- who did win the game. The Bounce Back team beat the world record and set it at over 120 hours.

According to Spin.PH news, “Jacque Ruby, chief operating officer of the organizing Discovery-ACCESS, said the official time recorded was 120 hours, one minute, and 7.8 seconds although it will still be subject to verification by adjudicator Turath Alsaraf, the Guinness director for records management.”

Bounce Back PH is hopeful events, such as this record breaking basketball game, will continue to obtain media coverage. “The more we put ourselves out there with alike events, the more the media will write about what is happening here in the Philippines. The results of Yolanda’s devastation are still very real and continue to impact our lives. We have displaced families in need of financial support. We’re not resting our campaign or our basketball efforts until a sense of normalcy is restored!”

Typhoon Yolanda wreaked havoc, leaving dead bodies in the streets and thousands of people homeless. Bounce Back PH created the IndieGogo campaign to scale international sustainability efforts for the country while paying homage to basketball. All money raised via the IndieGogo campaign will be donated to Gawad Kalinga's Operation Walang Iwanan. Gawad Kalinga (which means to "give care" in Filipino) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to end poverty for 5 million Filipino families by 2024.
