BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - March 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Historic Woodrow Hall will be celebrating its centennial with a very special event on Friday, April 25, 2014.  Festivities, presented by FrozenHen (www.frozenhen.com), will begin at 5:30 p.m. and are free to the public.  Partygoers will enjoy live music from Gabriel Tajeu, the film debut of Woodlawn: A Community United, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. This phenomenal venue is located at 5504 1st Avenue North, Birmingham, AL.

Built by the Freemasons in 1914, Woodrow Hall served as their meeting location for much of the last century.  In 2009, Community Property Development, a family owned business whose mission is to restore historic buildings in Birmingham, completed renovations on this remarkable building.  This landmark underwent an extensive restoration over a two-year period, resurrecting its vintage charm and adding modern touches. Today, this former Masonic Temple is full of unique architecture, character and warmth.

This community centered development group finds that through honest collaboration and hard work, they can create healthy urban environments and spur community redevelopment.  Their aim is to revitalize undervalued properties that have fallen into disrepair.  They aim for historic details with an intelligent modern perspective guiding all processes and logic.  These artisans bring quality design and construction.  Woodrow Hall was awarded the Thomas Jefferson Award by The Jefferson County Historical Commission in 2010.

Aside from the captivating surroundings, those present at the commemorative celebration will delight in the music of Gabriel Tajeu. (www.gabrieltajeu.com) Tajeu is not just a writer and singer. He is also a performer, and he has developed a sense of comfort on stage as a lead singer and guitar player.  He describes his new music as “R&B, Folk, Rock.”  Additionally, Made in the Magic City will debut their film, Woodlawn: A Community United, a film about Birmingham and the people who make it magic. Event attendees will discover that the breathtaking Woodrow Hall is the venue for an unforgettable event, offering two unique and beautiful banquet halls with exposed brick, high ceilings with huge wooden beams, many original details remain, as well as any needed modern amenity.  Woodrow Hall is perfect for weddings, concerts, parties, movie screenings or any special event.  It offers a timeless site to meet all needs.
