This competition will be open to violinists who are aged 17 and under.
The first round requires entrants to submit a short video of them performing a piece of their choice. After this stage, twelve entrants will be chosen to take part in the onsite competition where they will perform live in front of adjudicators and the public.
The winner will receive a Guarneri replica Violin to the value of $20,000 crafted by Konrad Kohlert from Bavaria, Germany.
“I wanted to promote a concert with a sense of friendship and cooperation, in which both winners and the other contestants participated,”
“I feel strongly that competitions are missing that aspect of comradeship”
Showcasing some of the Southern Hemisphere’s best young violinists, this event is a celebration of classical music and the next generation of talented performers. The competition will take place from December 12-14, 2014, in the Old Museum Building in Brisbane, Australia.
