PRLog - March 28, 2014 - ATLANTA -- Brad was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, with ambitions to build a career in the sports and marketing sector. Taking after his father, who was a marketing and PR professional, Brad was inspired to take a commercial focus from an early age. But it was perhaps his father’s ventures into business that were most influential in helping Brad become a business leader in his own right. While working in marketing, Brad’s father established 3 on 3 basketball tournaments, and Woman’s Fast Pitch Softball tournaments during the summer months. This gave Brad the insights he needed to know he wanted a career in marketing and business for himself.

“I admired that my Dad started these programs from the ground up and grew his tournaments from only a few teams and participants the first year to over hundreds of teams and participants a couple years later. This inspired me to not only want to work in the sports and entertainment industry but eventually run my own business. I was always taught to lead by example and that carries over in my management style - to not only talk the talk, but also to walk the walk.”
From these early roots, Brad went on to study Sport Management and Marketing, graduating from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a Bachelor’s Degree. This helped give him a better understanding of business from a client perspective, which influenced his decision to get involved in the direct marketing industry. Having played sports such as baseball and football through high school and college, Brad adapted the team mentality and drive of competitive sports to give his career an edge. Inspired by the performance and mentality of athletes like Barry Sanders, Derek Jeter, and Don Mattingly, Brad has deployed a similar driven ethos in getting results for himself and for his team.
According to Brad, his early experiences have taught him vital lessons about what it takes to be successful in business. “The most important skills that I have developed in my company are the ability to multitask and work on several different projects at once. Also, being prepared and able to react in high pressure situations because things never seem to go as planned. In my experience, things can change at the drop of a hat, and you need to be dynamic enough to respond to those changes to ensure you still deliver results. This is something I learned early on in life, and it stays with me right up to this day.”
Brad’s inspirational journey from Toledo boy to high-flying business executive has required a lot of hard work and dedication, and he has clearly pushed to get to where he is now. The next five years will see 10 more branches opened up, and Brad aims to become a Regional Consultant for the entire South East Region of the country in due course. “When I was first starting out, I paid as much attention as I could to experienced industry leaders, and the systems, strategies, and advice they were promoting. Speaking to these individuals has taught me so much about becoming successful – not only in this business, but in business more generally. As a result, I now feel much more comfortable facing the daily challenges of leadership, and I encourage every one of my team members to take the same, student-like approach to learning lessons and improving their performance.”
Having built his own successful career from the ground up at SE Connect, Brad now owns a home in Marietta with his wife and first child on the way.
