HamletHub Adding Waterbury West as Latest City in Its Roster of Hyperlocal News Sites

WATERBURY, Conn. - March 28, 2014 - PRLog -- HamletHub.com, a pioneering network of ‘hyperlocal’ websites providing locally originated news and information to communities, has launched its newest hyperlocal site for the west side of Waterbury, CT,  the company announced today.

With a full roster of sites covering most of Western Connecticut, and much of Westchester County, New York, HamletHub is proud to announce that Waterbury resident, David Bigham, has agreed to become the editor of Waterbury West HamletHub.  “We are thrilled to welcome our neighbors in the vibrant city of Waterbury to HamletHub,” said Ms. Ducey. “There are so many great people and businesses in the Waterbury community who deserve to have their very own forum to share neighborhood news, stories, ideas, events and best business practices. Dave will help make Waterbury a better place.” Ducey adds.

“A city the size of Waterbury deserves to receive the benefits of hyperlocal news and information, that's why I am covering 'Waterbury West',” said Dave.  “I live and work on the west side, the stories I'll write about are the things I see every day.”

HamletHub launched the first local news “Hub” in Ridgefield in 2009 with a mission to make the world better, one HamletHub at a time. HamletHub won a prestigious Connecticut Press Club Award in 2011 and 2012.

Hamlethub sites differ from other media outlets based on their focus on the needs of the community as well as the organizations, businesses, and residents that make up the fabric of the town.

Waterbury West HamletHub offers a unique opportunity for these groups to have a voice in their community, either by submitting articles to the site  as residents, or by participating in the site’s unique Article Membership service for businesses, giving them an unprecedented opportunity to tell their story and to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

David really appreciates his adopted hometown, "I am always telling people who are new to the area that Waterbury has great neighborhoods with sports teams, active neighborhood organizations, and very involved residents who work together to make their local areas of town better places to live. This collectively has a positive impact on the city at large."

These are the inspiration for the stories you will find on the Waterbury West HamletHub site," he explains.
