CMT’s LPG Series Widens Coverage to Africa, Explores Demand, Export & Infrastructure Needs

Slated to be another major LPG event, the Africa LPG Trade Summit, opening in Accra on 7-9 May, 2014, is all geared to examine LPG developments, demand & supply market trends, country-wise LPG projects and financial climate in the African region.

March 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Riding on the success of the LPG trade series, CMT brings its LPG Trade Summit to Accra in Ghana, this 7-9 May. Like the past successful editions, the Accra chapter is also expected to be attended by major LPG players from across the world, plus key stakeholders from the region. With the rise in demand for LPG in various parts of Africa, the summit aims at exploring the opportunities resulting from evolving consumption patterns & pricing trends, investment requirements for LPG distribution & infrastructure (transportation & storage, etc.,) plus others.

The 1.5 day summit will also delve into various case studies of successful implementation of import facilities & distribution in South Africa and Asia. Among the key presentations are ‘Africa in the Global Energy Market’ by Ms. Kristine Petrosyan, Senior Energy Analyst, Global Energy Economics, International Energy Agency (IEA) and ‘Angola’s LPG Production Outlook, Export Potential & Marketing Roadmap’ by a Senior Representative from Sonangol. LPG Adoption & Market Growth in Africa will be covered via a number of country-focused sessions. This includes ‘Ghana – LPG Market Development & Growth’ by Mr. Chris Chinebuah, Executive Chairman, Fueltrade Ltd.; ‘Local Operator's Perspective on LPG Distribution in Ghana’ by Ms. Ama Lokko, CEO, Namas B. Company Ltd. and ‘Challenges & Opportunities in the Domestic LPG Market for Nigeria’ by Ms. Wilma Aguele, Managing Director of Ambergas Limited.

Meanwhile ‘LPG Market Development in West Africa: Infrastructural/Regulatory Challenges & Opportunities’ and session on ‘Marketing LPG in West Africa’ will be unveiled by Mr. Dayo Adeshina, Managing Director, Strategic Energy Limited & a Senior Representative, Oando Marketing respectively. Correspondingly, Kenya & South Africa’s LPG Market Scenario is shared via a case study on ‘Logistic & Infrastructure Development for Successful LPG Distribution’ by Mr. Alex Evans, President and Chief Operating Officer, Energy Transportation Group (ETG).
