Popular Mexico Sportsmen’s Lodge “La Finca” Announces August Wingshooting Hunt Packages

NATCHITOCHES, La. - March 27, 2014 - PRLog -- La Finca Lodge, considered by many seasoned sportsmen as the hottest shooting location in Mexico, is excited to announce dates for their summer and early fall sporting adventure packages.  Starting today, guests can book dove, quail, duck or combination hunting packages for groups up to 30 people, August 24 – October 31, 2014.  Designed with the sportsman in mind, La Finca combines Old Mexico with luxury amenities including: gourmet meals, top-shelf bar and bartending staff, refreshing pool and poolside bar, large comfortable rooms with private bath and walk-in showers, laundry services, large screen television with direct satellite hookup, American appliances, full-time security and sparkling clean water.

La Finca Lodge is located in downtown San Fernando, Mexico on the Laguna Madre, an hour and ten minutes from Harlingen, Texas.  This convenient, safe and comfortable getaway is perfectly situated near the largest white-winged dove nesting area in the world and in the middle of thousands of acres of sorghum, corn and sunflower fields.  The Laguna Madre is also home to over 3 million species of ducks.  Known as the breadbasket of Mexico, this area in the state of Tamaulipas, is ideal habitat for white-winged and mourning dove, and for huge coveys of wild bobwhite quail.  A few miles away, along the Mexican gulf coast, waterfowling is highlighted as the large North American flyways converge in this coastal region which contains large freshwater “pans” as well as shallow saltwater bays.  This variety allows hunters to combine shoots of quail and duck in the morning or dove and quail in the afternoon.

Owned and operated by national sportsman Steve McCain, the La Finca Lodge staff has over two decades’ experience with wingshooting.  Extensive pre-hunt scouting minimizes drive times to the shooting areas. Quailhunting trucks are new and kept in excellent condition, as are the gator tail boats used for duck hunting.  For the convenience of guests who don’t wish to bring their own firearms, a selection of Beretta shotguns is available.

Sport Adventure Packages for August – October 2014 include a 6-hunt White Wing package where guests arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday afternoon.  Additional options include arriving on Sunday afternoon and leaving Thursday morning.  The cost is $2,250 per person.  The duck, quail and mourning dove 6-hunt packages run from November 2014 – February 2015 and cost $3,000 per person.  Both packages include luxury accommodations, meals, transportation, bar service and guns.  Shells, tips and bird boys are provided at an extra cost.
