This event is open to the public free of charge and will provide a rare opportunity to see a large number of world class race cars and talk to the drivers (professional and amateur) about their experience before their last two rounds of competition.
Race teams will be arriving at DEI’s facility between 2 and 3 p.m. and spectators are invited to come earlier. Limited parking will be made available across the street from DEI at the Weiss Baseball field parking lot. During the event there will be product displays, music and a food vendor at DEI’s headquarters located at 604 Moore Road in Avon Lake.
In its 31st year, The Tire Rack One Lap of America is the modern day version of the famed Cannonball Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash of 1970. Created by Brock Yates and popularized by the movie Cannonball Run, today’s One Lap of America challenges it’s participants to endure long transit drives of over 400 miles daily and to compete on 12 of Americas most challenging racetracks in 8 days.
“I promise this will be an exciting day at DEI, says, Tom Miller, V.P. of Marketing and Sales. We have hosted the One Lap of America previously and nothing compares to the sound of these race cars pulling one-by-one into our parking area. We hope to see a good turnout. There will be plenty of food, music and some powerful race cars on display.”
