By: Woman2Woman “As a North Toronto realtor I was inspired to start this not-for-profit organization after realizing how many inspiring and talented women I was surrounded by," says Alysha Lockyer, Founder of W2W. "It takes a village to raise a child and a network to create a successful business.” Try a CheerBody workout led by former Captain of the Toronto Argonauts Cheerleaders turned business owner, Brigitte Grenier. A Union Barre class led by principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, Heather Ogden. Get power pamper beauty treatments. Listen to the doula dish out some great advice. What’s a get together of hip women without a little shopping therapy? Many local vendors will showcase their products such as jewellery from Just Cuz and clothing from Poor Little Rich Girl. Or just meet, mingle and network. Do it all or follow where your heart leads you. Either way, the $25 entrance fee plus a non-perishable food item will be supporting women's shelters across the country and help fund long-term solutions to end violence in Canadian homes. “Third party events such as the Woman2Woman event allow the message of Nellie’s to be heard to a wider audience that may otherwise not know about us," says Julia Robinson, Development Manager for Nellie’s. “It creates an opportunity for the public to get involved with us, whether it be through volunteering their time, donating, or just spreading the word.
