ODG Showcases the Best of Open Education Resources for Open Education Week

March 26, 2014 - PRLog -- As an active participant in the March, 2014 Open Education Week (OEW), Open Doors Group (ODG) is proud to have showcased four resources of value to the Open Education community.

ODG recently hosted and successfully completed the first offerings of two Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) on Canvas Network (canvas.net).  ODG shared the lessons learned from the debut of these MOOCs at OEW. Presented as a video, A Frank Conversation With Melissa Loble, (http://www.openeducationweek.org/a-frank-conversation-with-melissa-loble-sr-director-of-canvas-network/) Mitchell Levy, Executive Director of ODG, interviewed Melissa Loble, Instructure Senior Director of Canvas Network to discuss the state of MOOCs.

ODG also presented http://www.slideshare.net/JackyHood2/open-doors-group-moo-cs-best-practices  MOOCs Best Practices, a LinkedIn group that encompasses all topics from designing a MOOC to marketing one that would help MOOC developers plan and execute a course effectively.



The need for leadership initiatives to improve access to higher education is well known to the Open Education community. At OEW, ODG also discussed its http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-A0t41HRl4&feature=youtu.be Higher Education Leadership Program (HELP), designed to address the shortage of leaders ready to take the reins of higher education.

Finally, ODG presented Education Without Limits: Why Open Education Matters (http://whyopenedmatters.org/video/50/education-without-li...), a video that emphasizes the importance of life-long learning.
