Eco-Friendly Alternative for 83% of Americans

A delicious alternative for the environmentally conscience American consumer.

LOS ANGELES - March 25, 2014 - PRLog -- About 83% of Americans drink coffee that is often mass produced in factories, using harmful chemicals and machines that release toxins into the environment.  ECO-FFÉ, an environmentally conscience coffee company, has launched a delicious gourmet coffee produced utilizing alternative eco-friendly methods which enhance the natural coffee flavor. The unique ECO-FFÉ approach to coffee making includes utilizing hand powered equipment and renewable energy to produce their three gourmet coffee blends.  Not only is the process eco-friendly, but the packaging is as well. The outer burlap coffee bag is made from recyclable material, to encourage consumers to repurpose the bag for additional uses after it is no longer needed to help the coffee maintain its fresh flavor.

Gary Prewitt, Founder and CEO of ECO-FFÉ, stumbled upon this idea while visiting sustainable companies for his financial consulting firm in 2012.  He stated, “I have always had a love for coffee and planned on, one day, launching my own coffee company. While I was on a business trip, I had a chance to consult with a company that was primarily run on solar power, and also used recycled rain water for their building’s water supply. I was amazed. When I came back home, I started to visit coffee roasters around the country and I was disgusted by some of the methods they used. After seeing an environmentally conscious business in action, it was hard for to be a part of an industry where I could be doing so much harm to the environment.”

After visiting the roasters, Prewitt spent the next 2 years developing a method of making coffee that was both eco-friendly and great tasting. “I actually think my method is what helps give the coffee get its distinct great taste.” When asked about his method Prewitt humorously replied, “It’s a secret. I don’t think that Colonel Sanders would tell you how he fries up his chicken, so this gentleman won’t tell you how we make the Eco-FFÉ  Gentleman’s blend.” He further adds, he spent those two years developing packaging that was eco-friendly and also helps preserve the coffee flavor and aroma. “I want to prove to the world that an eco-friendly product can be a superior product, and that a sustainable business can deliver a great product without harming the environment,” Prewitt stated.

When asked about how Eco-FFÉ  can keep up with the growing demand for its gourmet eco-friendly coffee  he said,  “There are regions and international markets that are interested in our coffee, so growing and spreading our environmental centric message, is a great thing.  But, I refuse to let this company put profit margins over our creed of sustainability. We are currently running a Kickstarter project until April 17, 2014 to spread our message.  A number of pretty cool prizes and rewards are available now.”
