BROOKLYN, N.Y. - March 25, 2014 - PRLog -- A leader has a vision. Leaders see a problem that needs to be fixed or a goal that must be achieved; with Leaders of Tomorrow Brooklyn, their goal is to be that continuous positive entity in the community, the outlet to set an example for others, and to aide those who seek guidance.  In partnership with HOT 97 Street Soldiers with Lisa Evers, and the Brooklyn Borough President, Eric L. Adams; these leaders are setting precedent at Brooklyn Borough Hall with the first, “Push 4 Peace” Summit, held on Saturday, April 26th, 2014.

Leaders of Tomorrow Brooklyn, is a vibrant urban organization located in Brooklyn, NY. This mentoring and development program founded by Minister Lamor M. Whitehead; enriches lives, emboldens confidence and expands options of our youth by building strong leaders in both the classrooms and in their surrounding communities.

At the invitation of Brooklyn Borough President, Eric L. Adams, Leaders of Tomorrow Brooklyn and HOT 97 Street Soldiers with Lisa Evers presents Push 4 Peace Summit, in the historic Brooklyn Borough Hall. The invitation is extended to all surrounding communities, teens, parents, and community leaders. The opportunity will be given to those who wish to be in the live audience and given the chance to ask questions and share their concerns for change and for peace.  The audience will have the pleasure of being in the presence of Pro Athletes, Hip Hop artists, and young community leaders out to shake the block. The intention of this day is to inspire and lead others to positivity and clarity with the topic of discussion being: “Hip Hop Stereotypes; is it time for a makeover?” and debating the influence Hip Hop has on the minds of young people. There are supporters that say Hip Hop artists give a voice to the streets, and let the world know about what's really going on. Critics say the emphasis on violence; drugs and criminal lifestyles promote negative stereotypes, especially of young men of color. What do you think?

Leaders of Tomorrow Brooklyn is an inner city mentoring and activity program which focuses on various aspects negatively impacting local communities in and surrounding the boroughs of Brooklyn. The Push 4 Peace Summit will feature a town hall discussion panel with a focus on how to help our youth get beyond the negativity that destroys many lives in our neighborhoods each day. Leaders of Tomorrow Brooklyn is committed to providing educational opportunities, mentoring and inspirational guidance not only to the youth but also to all. A host of celebrity guests and community leaders will join HOT 97’s award winning community affairs show, "Street Soldiers with Lisa Evers".  The event will feature live music from Hot 97 DJs and a wide range of activities, including a fair with community organizations offering information on their programs. Leaders of Tomorrow Brooklyn provides its community with adult mentorship programs, youth financial literacy, entrepreneurship courses, career counseling, sports and physical activity groups to maintain a healthy lifestyle, free GED classes, education and job training opportunities. The event will be free to the public and will build awareness and a strong bond with our core audience of teens and young adults across many platforms.  We know that we can have a positive impact on our youth by changing attitudes and offering a variety of alternatives, including new ways of thinking.  The idea is to acknowledge the problems, but focus more on solutions and personal empowerment as the takeaway.  There is a panel on stage, and live interaction with the audience. The show will be recorded and aired on HOT 97, also streamed live on hot97.com. Made HOT for you by HOT 97, Brooklyn Borough President, Eric L.
