During the open house students will share their academic success and many of their current and past projects will be on display for all to see. Students, parents and prospective families will be able to visit all classrooms. These Pinecrest events truly are open forums where all can mingle, get to know each other and learn from each other.
The Pinecrest Moorpark campus is located at 14100 Peach Hill Road in Moorpark and the school emphasizes art, science, technology and social studies. Most of all, according to Cauthron, the school strives to be a place where “learning is fun.” Much of that fun will be on display during the open house which will include an art fair, numerous student science projects, mission’s reports, state reports, and even a diorama that shows the life cycle of a butterfly.
The Pinecrest Schools were founded by Edna Mae Dye and her husband George, who moved to California from Iowa in 1948. The Dyes opened their first campus in Van Nuys in California in 1951 with the simple philosophy of providing an excellent education to as many young people as possible. Their mission is to provide a Quality education and childcare at an affordable price. The Dyes believed in growing with Southern California and serving the many new communities that came into existence throughout the area since the Pinecrest Schools were founded in 1951. Today, there are eight campuses throughout Southern California, including campuses in Canyon Country, Lancaster, Moorpark, Northridge, Thousand Oaks, Valencia, Woodland Hills and Simi Valley.
