BURNS HARBOR, Ind. - March 25, 2014 - PRLog -- It gives the team at Lake Shore Ford great pride to announce that the 2015 Ford Focus (http://lakeshoreford.com/2015-ford-focus) looks like it will become even more fuel efficient than previous models thanks to an updated EcoBoost powertrain.

Not only does it look as though the 2015 Focus is taking design elements from the already popular Ford Fusion, but when this improved powertrain is factored in alongside the suite of standard and available features, it looks as though Ford's small car is going to stay at the top of the market.

The award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine comes paired with a six-speed transmission, looking to raise the bar for competing vehicles by moving well beyond previous efficiency ratings for the small car. This engine was named International Engine of the Year for both 2012 and 2013, and will be available in right alongside the basic 2.0L GDI four-cylinder—which is already helping the Focus get an EPA-estimated 40 highway mpg.

Raj Nair, Ford group vice president of global product development explained the success of the engine: “The 1.0L EcoBoost engine is proof that excellent fuel economy and performance can come in one package. Focus is already known for bringing together efficiency and fun, and our latest addition will bring consumers a whole new level of enjoyment – on the road and at the pump.”

Currently the only vehicle that has the 1.0L engine available is the Fiesta, but that's all set to change once the 2015 lineup hits showrooms.

In addition to carrying just a 1.0L engine under the hood of the latest version of Ford's famous small car, the new Focus will also feature options like driver-assist technology and a blind-spot information system, coming standard with modern amenities like a rearview camera system.
