Apps May not be a Miracle Cure For Business

Relying more on, “Miracles” than common sense or hard work, Software or Systems rather than gut feeling or street sense. Yes Business Owners truly believe that forcing consumers to download something is going to be the Miracle or Game Changer.

PRLog - March 25, 2014 - Miracles? An extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. Well that’s what the Dictionary states a Miracle is and for some unknown reason it seems to be how a lot of Business is run today. Relying more on, “Miracles” than common sense or hard work, Software or Systems rather than gut feeling or street sense. The latest miracle over the past couple of years? APPS. Yes people truly believe that forcing consumers to download something is going to make customers loyal, yep and pigs might fly!

Why? Well one of the remaining remnants of freedom left in our society is the freedom to choose but for some strange reason? Developers of the world have done a good job of convincing companies that this has all changed and they need an APP, so there customers will no longer have that freedom to wander and safe and secure customers will be the result.

Now don’t get me wrong here, I love some APPS, I’m really fond of Angry Birds and Temple Run, I like the Mirror APP I have on my Android, My Exercise APP helps me keep track of my workouts. But if you want me to download something to be stuck in your Product or Service without any form of choice? Stick It.  If you want me to download an APP to find out about your Product or how much its costs? Take a Hike.

If you want me to download an APP that only gives me the choice of only using services that pay to be on your APP? See Ya Later

I may be Old school but I’m an ever-growing school, the figures show with people starting to walk away in huge numbers from the Ball and Chain of a Downloaded APP.

Let’s take reading the NEWS as an example. Mobile apps were supposed to be the reset button for the news industry. The last fifteen years have shown how hard it is to get consumers to pay for content on websites or pay attention to ads there. In the app environment, all that was going to be different. Wrong

Yep it worked for a while but that was back in the day when the IPad ruled the world and ITunes made sure of it, now with Android dominating we can hear the cry of FREEDOM from the Starbucks Stalls as readers sip on a latte as they devour the daily trivia of the Globe from a browser.

So dear readers what is the advice of today? Well when your Tech department is in cahoots with the marketing department and tell you that an APP is going to be the be all and end all Miracle that will make a huge impact on your bottom line, tell em to dust off the elbow grease and do some work!

Get busy creating content, information, stuff that excites people about your business, make changes to promotions, get your websites sexy and mobile as your new, improved and excited customers are going to come from a Web Search not from the “Miracle” (cough splutter) of an APP.
