NAPA, Calif. - March 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Today, most people believe that the only sure-fire road to success is through having a college degree. Gene W. Kelly, author of “The College Myth”, says that this belief is just flat out wrong. This pervasive myth leaves many college graduates with massive debt, working in a dead end job and living at home in their parents’ basement.

Gene has a better solution. One that trains workers for the new manufacturing economy where even someone with a high school degree can earn a good income after only months of accelerated training, without the back-breaking debt of a college education.

Gene is on a mission to shake up and fundamentally change how job skills are taught today.

Enormous college debt and underemployed degree earners are hot topics right now, with many college graduates working in low-wage, non-skilled positions.  Gene wants to change that dynamic so more individuals are gainfully employed in highly skilled trade businesses that the country really needs, not more over-educated coffee baristas.

Gene is a successful businessman and has dedicated himself to training young men and women in creating success with the right career direction, which for many individuals means not attending a four-year college.  Simply put, Gene knows what jobs of the 21st century will be vital to the economy and where the next generation of millionaires is coming from: The Trades.  Yes, we’re going back to the future.

Gene has an innovative plan to retool our economy by empowering an entire new generation of talented entrepreneurs to invest in obtaining seven specialized trade skills through accelerated learning courses taught through modern training methods. He contends that instead of investing $144,000 in a four-year college education that an individual spend the next four years working full-time instead.  For many graduates, the ROI just isn’t there anymore for a college education, with decreasing employment opportunities and greater competition for knowledge workers.  Even an entry level plumber or carpenter is earning $40,000 after only months of highly specialized training.

Personal Interest Story: Gene went from a C+ student in high school to a first-generation millionaire by learning several specific trade skills that he leveraged into a series of well-paying jobs and business opportunities. Now he is the founder and CEO of several companies, including the Accelerated Technical Training Institute.

Gene is also an educational thought leader and Napa Valley winery owner.
