PHILADELPHIA - March 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Freeman’s, America’s oldest auction house, is continuing to expand. After successfully launching regional offices in Charlottesville, Va., and Boston, Mass., three new hires will now focus attention on other regions. Freeman's was founded in Philadelphia in 1805.

Matthew S. Wilcox, former Vice President of Trusts & Estates at Freeman’s, has returned to the company to develop Freeman’s business in Washington, D.C. and the lower mid-Atlantic region. Wilcox brings 16 years of auction experience with him, is an active Estate Appraiser and is an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA). Wilcox originally came to Freeman’s in 2003 after six years with Butterfields (Bonham’s) in California. He may be reached at mwilcox@freemansauction.com.

Also fresh from Bonham’s is Freeman’s new head of Fine Jewelry and Watches, Michael Larsen. A 20-year veteran of the jewelry profession, Mr. Larsen is both a GIA Graduate Gemologist and a Graduate Jeweler, as well as a Certified Gemological Appraiser from the American Gemological Society. In addition to running Freeman’s Fine Jewelry and Watches Department, Larsen, based in Los Angeles, will also serve as Freeman’s West Coast representative. He may be reached at mlarsen@freemansauction.com.

Finally, insurance and auction world veteran William A. Rudd has joined Freeman’s to represent the Midwestern states. With over 40 years of experience in fine art, Mr. Rudd is expected to open new business opportunities for Freeman’s from his home base in Cincinnati. He may be contacted at warudd@freemansauction.com.
