Florida Hospital DeLand and Stetson University Athletics Enter Multi-Year Partnership

DELAND, Fla. - March 24, 2014 - PRLog -- For several years, Florida Hospital DeLand has had a presence on the Stetson University campus. However, these two major community institutions have announced a new partnership that will formalize the relationship and further enhance the hospital’s presence on the local university’s campus.

“We have had a long-standing relationship with Stetson University” said Lalita Kapuscinski, Florida Hospital DeLand director of sports medicine and rehabilitation, diabetes and wellness services. “For the past three years, we have had an outpatient rehabilitation facility inside Stetson’s Wilson Athletic Center, and as our relationship grew, we added additional services.”

These added services included enhanced physical therapy to accommodate the student athletes and their schedules, as well as a dedicated physician at the student clinic to care for the athletes and reduce their wait time.

“We also provide other in-kind services to the University, such as athletic training coverage to club soccer and lacrosse games for free,” Kapuscinski said. “This new official partnership serves as an excellent opportunity for us to keep this successful partnership ongoing.”

In addition to the rehabilitation services, Florida Hospital DeLand also provided staff and imaging equipment on-site during all Stetson University home football games at Spec Martin Stadium.  If a player incurred an injury during a game, the hospital staff was able to quickly perform diagnostic imaging scans. This service was available to both Stetson players as well as their opponents and was a necessary service; the hospital performed at least one exam during every game.

Now, Stetson Athletics officially welcomes Florida Hospital DeLand as a Hatter Partner with a multi-year partnership agreement in place.

As a full Hatter Partner, one of the top partnership levels available through Stetson Athletics, Florida Hospital DeLand will have a substantial presence at all Stetson athletic venues and events, as well as extensive promotional involvement with all 18 sports teams.
