Follow on Google News | Broadening the reach of STEM through scholarshipsBy: STEM For Kids “Giving back to our community is at the core of what we do at STEM For Kids … it is in our organizational heartbeat”, says Moni Singh, Founder and CEO. During the last two years, over 25 area schools have benefitted from STEM givebacks. This year, STEM For Kids takes its givebacks a step further with offering scholarships for capable students. GeeK Scholarships, named in honor of Mrs. Singh’s parents, will be awarded to academically gifted students needing financial assistance. The first set of GeeK Scholarships is being offered for STEM camps during the months of March – May 2014. Interested parents should get the application details from their school’s administration or AIG (Academically and Intellectually Gifted) teacher. If your school is not currently participating in the GeeK Scholarship program from STEM For Kids, please have your Principal and/or AIG Teacher reach out to us at fun@stemforkids.net. Scholarships are awarded based on funds and available seats in the desired camp. STEM For Kids provides hands-on fun-filled STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) track-out and summer camps in various locations in the Triangle area including Raleigh, Durham and Cary. Registrations for trackout and summer camps are open at www.stemforkids.net. End
