Sisters U Presents Lu Ann Cahn

Lu Ann Cahn Speaking at the Upper Bucks Campus of Bucks County Community College in Celebration of Women’s History Month

PERKASIE, Pa. - March 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Perkasie, PA -------------- Sisters U, a non-profit 501c3 organization, is sponsoring a local event to celebrate Women’s History Month on Thursday, March 27th from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Upper Bucks Campus of Bucks County Community College located at 1 Hillendale Road, Perkasie, PA.

Emmy award-winning journalist with NBC10 WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, cancer survivor and author of the book  I Dare Me, Lu Ann Cahn, will be the featured speaker addressing the staff and faculty members of the college. Cahn’s inspirational memoir I Dare Me is an entertaining look back on a year that changed everything for her. The book grew out of a blog called Year of Firsts, which chronicled this veteran journalist, mother and survivor’s daily adventures as she pushed herself to try something new for every single day – an effort to get her life “unstuck,” as her daughter puts it. She went on this year long adventure while working her full time job on NBC News. She celebrates 26 years at the station—WCAU-TV—this year.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Women’s History Month in collaboration with the staff and faculty of the Upper Bucks Campus of Bucks County Community College.  We are also extremely grateful to Lu Ann for inspiring us with her journey as a woman creating her own history,” says Karen Chellew, Founder & CEO of Sisters U.
