Lyme and other tick-borne diseases are the fastest growing infectious diseases in the country. Those suffering from Lyme Disease in the South face significant challenges in getting properly diagnosed with Lyme due to tests that do not cover strains found in southern states, surveillance practices, and poor awareness about the risk of Lyme outside of the Northeast.
