Fundraisers Sleep-Out In Cardboard Boxes For Charity

By: Advanced Removals

March 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Stroud turned into Cardboard City as fundraisers took to the cold streets to raise money for Marah Trust.

A small town in the South West of England transformed the grounds of St Laurence Church with cardboard and sofa covers, donated by Advanced Removals, as supporters spent the night ‘slumming it’.

The fundraiser attracted dozens of people to take part all in aid of raising awareness for those people who are permanently homeless.

The money raised from the event was donated to the Marah Trust, a Christian charity that offer help, support and guidance to vulnerable adults in the Stroud district. With this money they will be able to provide cooked food, important advice and continual support.

Among the 27 people who took part were parliament-pairing of Stroud MP Neil Carmichael and Labour candidate David Drew. The event started at 9pm until the early hours of the morning, with just some sofa covers and cardboard for warmth.

Advanced Removals, provider of the sofa covers for the event, were so impressed with the turnout and money raised that they are looking for new charity events that need their help.
