Government statistics also show that 163,000 Green Deal assessments have occurred so far, with 89% of those that have had a sustainable upgrade through the Green Deal saying they would recommend the scheme to their family and friends.
Commenting on the statistics, 247 Home Rescue spokesman Kevin Burke said:
“Energy efficiency is of key importance nowadays and is only set to become more important in the years to come.
“With energy prices and global temperatures rising, the best way to respond to the challenges the UK and the world faces is for everyone to make efforts to curtail their energy use.
“Replacement gas boilers, insulation, draught proofing and central heating upgrades might seem like relatively simple home improvements, but they make a drastic difference to a household’s carbon footprint and energy bills.
“It is great that so many people have benefited from the Green Deal and ECO. We hope that take-up is even higher over 2014 than it was in 2013 and that the government smashes through its target of one million household improvements.”
