An Art History / Film graduate of Vassar College, Ms. Zyko's experience covers fashion (Diane Von Furstenberg,) An early social media marketer focussing on media properties and one-time "mom blogger," her goal is to simultaneously improve the ability for career artists to automate their digital lives and connect with potential customers as well as disrupt the contemporary gallery model of white walls and reverential silence. "I believe art needn't be served separately from other forms of cultural consumption; Having just wrapped up a year-long social marketing push for Manhattan Graphics Center and curated the successful One/1 show in their project space, Ms. Zyko will work with The Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors as they plan a show at the Sylvia Wald & Po Kim Art Gallery in 201' and Kenya Spare a Camera to bring Norman Golightly's photographic project with the Cura Orphanage, based in Nairobi, to a wider public. With a motto of "Every artist has a story; tell yours," itmarksthespot (a name given to the venture by Ms. Zyko's sons who are firm believers in pirates and the "x's" that mark their treasure,) begins her first season with the following narratives. Animalia: creatures in print & small sculptures by Anneli Arms. NYC born and bred and a fixture in the SoHo / Bridgehampton art scenes since the 1950's Anneli is a prolific sculptor and printmaker with a decidedly political bent. Showing a small selection of her delightfully animated and artistically complex sculptures is the beginning of a process to seek greater recognition for an artist of immense talent. A Los Angeles based artist and Cal State grad, Stu imbues his graphically- Show dates: 5/9/2014 to 6/13/2014 Opening: Saturday 5/10/2014 from 12:30-5:30pm featuring a special performance by Luke Nutting. An online catalog featuring music by Luke Nutting will be available. Wordbowl: online meets offline as language meets image in a collaborative group show between Charlie Schroder's Wordbowl blog and 7 artists who have considered her crowdsourced stories through their own artistic lens.
