Bryce H. Bennett, Jr. Appointed as Chairman of the Indiana Election Commission

INDIANAPOLIS - March 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Indiana Election Commission – Bryce H. Bennett, Jr. has been appointed by Governor Pence as Chairman of the Indiana Election Commission. Bennett is a co-founder of the Indianapolis based law firm, Riley Bennett & Egloff, LLP. He is a business and trial lawyer whose practice is devoted largely to representing businesses, government, and not-for-profit entities. Bennett is dedicated to his community, holding many elected and appointed board and volunteer leadership positions, serving local and statewide organizations.

Formed in 1995 on an act of the Indiana General Assembly, the Indiana Election Commission is governed by a four person board of which all members are appointed by the Governor of Indiana.  To be a member of the Indiana Election Commission, one must hold membership in a major political party and be a registered Indiana voter.  Nominations are taken from recommendations of the respective state party chairpersons, and no more than two members of the board can be from either major party.  Bennett has been a member of the Commission since August, 2011.
