PATERNA, Spain - March 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. submitted several papers dealing with novel theoretical and practical aspects of lightning protection.

In the charming town of Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc, the second International Symposium on Lightning Protection (ILPS) was held on 13 and 14 March with the participation of experts coming from all over the world that presented and discussed the most topical issues in this area.

Members of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A., from the management and the R+D+i department, attended the Symposium and submitted three papers developing both practical and theoretical aspects of lightning protection. The first one presented a case of conventional protection whose design was made with a own-developed software. Other paper was dealing with an European Standard project, presently under progress, for standardizing lightning protection systems from a pure performance point of view. The paper described the history and current state of this project as well as monitoring methods and instruments that may be used for achieving the goals of such standard. Last paper proposed the consideration of electrostatic aspects as an improvement of the protection models.

Also notable is the paper presented by an end user of the oil sector, endorsing the correct operation of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. thunderstom warning system ATSTORMv02.
