March 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Allegro Performing Arts Academy's new location is still in Kent but now it's officially in downtown Kent, on the corner of Gowe St and Central Ave.  After four months of construction, Allegro is all moved in, and loving every moment of settling into the new location.

The building was originally constructed in the 1960's and has been home to a variety of businesses through the years; grocery store, discount price store and a printing factory, to name a few.  Allegro was able to create a floor plan from scratch to customize their exact needs. Construction began in October 2013, and with a few little bumps in the road along the way, they were able to move in at the end of January. Since they have moved in, the building has come alive with the energy of excited dancers.

Allegro calls it their 'new, forever home' because they plan on being at this location indefinitely.  'We never want to move again,' says owner Tonya Goodwillie. 'The purpose of this move was to find and build the perfect place, settle into it and become a bigger part of downtown Kent.'

The new location is more than 12,000 square feet that consists of six large dance rooms, spacious lobby with a merchandise wall, two student lounges, female and male locker rooms, as well as a teachers’ lounge.  The studio also has a video monitor system, intercom system, large, eight foot viewing windows for each dance room, water fountains, security system, vending machines and a moveable panel wall between two rooms that opens up to have one enormous room.

'It's really a dream studio' exclaims Tonya, 'It's a perfect fit for us and it felt like home right away! It's been so special to see how all the teachers and students are excited to be in our new home.'

The January 26th Grand Opening was a festive event that consisted of 500+ people coming to celebrate the new location.  Mayor Suzette Cooke was there for an official ribbon cutting ceremony and tables of snacks also included fun facts about Allegro through the years.  The winner of the raffle to be the first official class in the new location was eight year old Landon Spurbeck. He was able to take class with about 20 of his friends from Allegro teacher Megan Mackey during the grand opening festivites.  The grand opening was a magical evening and was a celebration of all the hard work that went into creating Allegro's new home.

Allegro is very proud of it's new home and they also love being a part of the downtown Kent community.  Pictures of the new location is are on their website at www.allegrodance.com but please also feel free to stop by and get your own personal tour.
