One of the Five Pillars of Islam requires every Muslim to perform the Hajj pilgrimage at least once in his or her lifetime if able to do so. This includes circumambulation of the Kaaba. The current structure of the Mosque covers an area of 356,800 square metres (88.2 acres) including the outdoor and indoor praying spaces and can accommodate up to two million worshipers during the Hajj period, one of the largest annual gatherings of people in the world.
"This is a very important addition to the broadcast line up of the channel as it allows viewers to feel participative and connected to the holiest site in Islam on a daily basis", said Hassim Jogee, Deen TV's CFO and KZN Regional Director, whilst Ahmed Mohamed, a Director at Deen TV added that the set up has been a technically challenging one and the channel is now happy with the quality of visuals coming from the holy lands. Visuals are accompanied by melodious Quranic recitals.
Viewer can expect to see the cross over daily for now on Deen TV's Openview HD line up from 13:00 to 13:30, 16:00 to 16:30, 19:00 to 19:30 and at 22:00
The live broadcast from the Holy Mosque will be available on Deen TV's Starsat sector shortly.
