Areté Music Academy Piano Student Wins Award

Pianist Radovan Lumban-Tobing was awarded the 2013 Tri-State Certificate of Excellence from the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. - March 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Areté Music Academy is pleased to announce the recent notable achievement of its piano student Radovan Lumban-Tobing. Radovan was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall on March 16, 2014 as a recipient of the 2013 Tri-State Certificate of Excellence Award from The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program. Among all the students from the tri-state area who took The Royal Conservatory Music Development assessment exams in 2013, Radovan received the highest mark for Grade 4 Piano assessment exam. As a result, he was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall on March 16, 2014.

ABOUT Radovan Lumban-Tobing

Fourteen-years-old Radovan Lumban-Tobing is a resident of Edgewater, NJ.  He began his piano studies at the age of 6. He is currently a sophomore at the Bergen County Technical High School (Law and Justice program) and he has attended the Eleanor Van Gelder Elementary School in Edgewater and Leona Middle School.  His mother Stella Martomo, Ph.D., is working in New York as is a scientist for a pharmaceutical company. His father Pago Lumban-Tobing, Ph.D., is an investment researcher for a Fortune 500 Company.

ABOUT The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program

The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program focuses on periodic assessments for students and one-on-one adjudicator-to-student performance evaluations. The State Certificate of Excellence Awards recognizes students each academic year who have obtained the highest marks for performance assessments in each instrument in levels ranging from Preparatory through Associate Diploma. To be eligible for these awards, recipients need to obtain a minimum of 80% on performance assessments and complete theory requirements for their assessment level.
