Byrd's Nest Celebrating 11 Years in Business.
Ormond Beach, FL- Byrd’s Nest Quilt Shop is delighted to announce that they have been in business for 11 years this month and are planning a celebration.
“We are excited about this milestone anniversary,”
The shop recently remodeled, painting, adding new lighting, new countertops, a new sewing center, and brand new carpet.
March is also National Quilting Month. They will be celebrating in-store March 21st and 22nd. There will be an open house, anniversary party, and a store-wide sale on those dates.
Byrd’s Nest was originally located in Washington state for five years before relocating to Florida in 2003. Byrd recently sold her Palm Coast location to focus on Ormond Beach and to care for her mother.
The shop has been making and donating quilts for the past year and a half to Florida Hospital Hospice. Last year, they donated 12 quilts to the organization. It takes eight volunteers approximately six to eight hours per quilt with a cost of about $300 per quilt. Byrd said many family members often thank them saying the quilts mean a lot to them.
Byrd’s Nest Quilt Shop is located at 156 East Granada Blvd, in Ormond Beach, FL. It’s one of the largest quilt shops in Florida with two stories and over 3,000 square feet of space right on Granada Blvd. near A1A. They carry approximately 5,000 bolts of fabric, hundreds of books and patterns, and an array of unique fabrics and batiks. They have a large sewing area upstairs for quilt retreats, and they often bring in national sewing teachers.
They offer long arm quilting and binding and have adequate parking for bus tours. They also offer machine repairs on all brands of sewing machines. The class schedule is available on their website at www.byrdsnestquiltshop.com. Keep up with them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/
