TMD Welcomes Norman Silverman to its Planning Practice

CARLSBAD, Calif. - March 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Mr. Silverman brings over 40 years' experience developing, optimizing, and implementing bus and rail service in Metropolitan New York City. We are proud to introduce him as part of TMD's senior management team.

Mr. Silverman brings exceptional expertise and experience with a wide range of transit services and networks such as metro rail, commuter rail, commuter express bus, and local/limited-stop bus. His work for Long Island Bus improved bus transit efficiency and effectiveness in a heavily suburban environment and balanced regional commuting, local area, and community mobility needs. For New York City Transit, Norm led both major project work (the Planning and Environmental Analysis of Second Avenue Subway Corridor) and ongoing improvement of the bus and rail network in the five boroughs (counties) of New York City. Lastly, Norm led the development of a brand new 1,200-bus system that restructured individual routes operated by seven private bus companies. An efficient and effective network of bus transit that integrated with the services and fare structure provided by the regional MTA transit service provider was the result.
