STAMFORD, Conn. - March 18, 2014 - PRLog -- The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series breakfast presentation by Professor Paul Rexton Kan on “Cartels at War: Understanding Mexico’s Drug Fueled Violence & The Threat To U.S. National Security”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on April 9, 2014.

Paul Rexton Kan is Professor of National Security Studies and the Henry L. Stimson Chair of Military Studies at the US Army War College. In February 2011 he served as the Senior Visiting Counternarcotics Adviser at NATO Headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan and he has provided advice to the US Office of National Drug Control Policy.  He recently completed field research along the US-Mexico border for his current book: Cartels at War: Understanding Mexico’s Drug-Fueled Violence and the Threat to US National Security.

He is also the author of the book, Drugs and Contemporary Warfare, and the author of numerous articles on the intersection of drug trafficking, crime and modern forms of conflict, including: “Cyberwar in the Underworld:  Anonymous versus Los Zetas in Mexico”; “Drugging Babylon:  The Illegal Narcotics Trade and Nation-Building in Iraq”; and “Criminal Sovereignty:  Understanding North Korea’s Illicit International Activities”.

The cost for the breakfast and presentation is free for AR series members, $30 for Forum members and $50 for the general public. The event will start at 7:15 A.M. with coffee and networking followed by a full breakfast buffet at 7:30. The presentation will begin at 8 A.M. and Dr. Kan will take questions.
